Academic Program Specialist - Department of Nutrition and Public Health
POSITION DETAILS
The Academic Program Specialist plays a central role in ensuring the smooth operation of administrative and student services components for the Department of Nutrition and Public Health. Reporting directly to the Dean, responsibilities for the role, along with the CUNY Title overview, include but are not limited to:
• Manage the admissions and recruitment processes for prospective and incoming students in the Nutrition and Public Health programs, overseeing the registration approval and scheduling.
• Conduct and coordinate graduation audits and degree clearances for students within the program
• Respond to all inquiries from students related to the program and provide direct advisement to program majors
• Develop, research, and propose electronic solutions to various academic procedures
• Oversee the update of all departmental communications and curricular documents and ensure updates are properly distributed.
• Assist with the coordination and planning of events such as orientations and recognition ceremonies
• Provide administrative support to faculty and serves as a liaison to College divisions in an effort to resolve academic, enrollment, and policy issues.
• Prepare and analyze reports to support departmental decision making and improve efficiency of departmental procedures
• Manage databases needed for accreditation ensuring accuracy and adherence to all policies and procedures
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree and four years' relevant experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Master's degree
+ 2-3 years of experience in data management
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills
+ Demonstrated organizational ability preferred

Participates in the daily coordination of academic and administrative activities of a College's specialized academic program under management direction.
- Supports program development, student service delivery, outcome evaluation and instructor/student recruitment, enrollment, and retention.
- Recommends, implements and evaluates strategies to expand program offerings
- Prepares analytical and statistical reports for management
- Develops and maintains relationships with various College offices to improve student and faculty services
- Serves as resource expert regarding program policies and procedures
- Oversees office recordkeeping; manages updates of program web and print materials
- May supervise office operations and/or department budget
- Performs related duties as assigned.

**$68,364 - $82,663** , Salary commensurate with education and experience.
