We are seeking a(an) Master's Level Assessment Specialist for our team to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. Job Summary and Qualifications

+ Conducts behavioral health assessment on adults with behavioral health, substance abuse, and or psychiatric needs to determine appropriate level of care

+ Provides provisional diagnosis using the DSM 5 for each patient assessment

+ Communicates recommendation of treatment with psychiatrist for approval

+ Communicates with unit staff regarding bed assignment, properly depicting patient presentation

+ Maintains positive relationships with members of the community both formal and informal

+ Answers incoming call in timely manner

+ Utilizes appropriate skills in telephone etiquette when answering the telephone, making sure to record correct messages and pass along to appropriate staff, including patient inquiries

+ Effectively communicates throughout shift with Call Center utilizing phone, Skype, and email

+ Reviews referrals in a timely manner. Collaborates with Respond RN to review for appropriate admission

+ Verifies insurance through Passport

+ Converses with various insurance companies to ensure payment for services

+ Explain release of information to patients and family

+ Effectively manages the therapeutic environment

+ Understands process of CON

+ Completes safety checks upon intake to include wanding and removal of contraband materials

+ Assures suicide, elopement, falls and other precautions are conducted according to the need identified

+ Demonstrates knowledge and ability to follow hospital code system

+ Responds to codes on units when appropriate and as needed

+ Completes daily logs correctly and consistently

+ Involves Crisis Response Team as needed for facilitation of care

+ Treats all patients and their families with respect and without judgement

+ Makes necessary contacts with community resources to ensure continuity of care

+ Knowledge of growth and developmental stages to ensure appropriate evaluation of patients of various ages

+ Demonstrates an understanding of patient abuse and neglect policies and laws

+ Demonstrates an understanding of the objectives of the ethics and compliance program, as evidenced by participation in annual training and adherence to regulations and policies

+ Complies with Confidentiality & Security Agreement

What qualifications you will need:

+ Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

+ Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

+ Masters Degree

These include Parkridge Valley Adult and Senior. These include Parkridge Valley Child and Adolescent campus. These also include Parkridge Valley Cleveland and Parkridge Valley West. Parkridge Valley West is a behavioral health hospital. We offer adult inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services. These are offered to residents of Marion and its surrounding counties.
