    The USC Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences is seeking an Instructional Lab Manager in the Dornsife Academic Support Hub. The largest and oldest of the USC schools, USC Dornsife functions as the academic core of the university, offering courses and advancing knowledge across the humanities, social sciences and natural sciences.

     

    Based on a divisional framework, Academic Services Hubs will provide staff support to approximately 35 departments across Dornsife. Each hub will serve one division and the number of departments per division varies. The mission of the Dornsife Academic Service Hubs is to provide optimal, localized support to academic departments by providing specialized services that foster the academic, instructional, and research-driven engagement of faculty, staff and students in the Dornsife community.

    Responsibilities:

    The Instructional Lab Manager in Life Sciences will manage instructional lab activities within the hub, which may include but will not be limited to the following:

    + Operation and maintenance of one or more laboratory facilities.

    + Controls equipment and supplies inventory.

    + Prepares long and short-range plans for the use of facilities.

    + Plans and develops program objectives and content.

    + Oversees the preparation of laboratory lectures.

    + Manages environmental health and safety programs.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Ph.D. in Kinesiology, Biokinesiology, Exercise Physiology or related field.

    + Experience with testing human performance and conducting bio-assay/wet lab experiments involving biological samples.

    + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    + Strong ability to effectively lead lab safety procedures and compliance.

    + Experience with proper use and maintenance of lab equipment.

    Salary range:

    The annual base salary range for this position is $91,657.88 -$106,268.99. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer alignment, federal, state and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.

     

    This position is on-campus/hybrid depending on the role.
