    + This job is a member of the Flight Team within the Integrated Operations Division.

    + Responsible for leading the Flight Training and Standards Scheduling team respectively responsible for providing efficient, cost effective scheduling of all required phases of Flight Training including Ground and Simulator Training, Operating Experience, Line Checks, Special Airport and Division Qualifications.

    + Provides leadership to Flight Training and Standards Scheduling and Pilot Records team, consistently projecting all elements of AA's Leadership Attributes

    + Collaborates with other Flight Training Planning and Scheduling leaders to ensure harmonious coordination across all phases of Flight Training planning, scheduling, and qualification recording

    + Works with the Flight Training Planning and Scheduling operations analysts to develop a data reporting regimen for AA's Flight Training operation. Uses the insights obtained from such reporting to identify areas of operational improvement. Designs new business practices and implements accordingly regarding OE/airport qualifications concerns, exceptions; researches and resolves problems

    + Provides oversight of Check Airman monthly schedules to ensure compliance with Departmental, Contractual and Regulatory provisions

    + Manages the development and execution of a New Hire and Recurrent Training program for daily planners and schedulers. Ensures ongoing evaluations for all staff members are carried out, including ensuring qualification requirements, policies and procedures are implemented correctly

    + Allocates team resources to develop policies and ways of workings that reduce risk of errors, ensure redundancies and fail-safes, and eliminate single points of failure

    + Assists with revision and currency of the Flight Training Planning and Scheduling Manual

    + Represents Flight Training Planning and Scheduling as the focal point and coordinator for all internal and external audits and inspections relating to pilot records procedures and recordkeeping practices

    + Works with and responds to union concerns relative to maintaining contractual compliance throughout our process

     

    All you'll need for success

    Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

    + Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training

    + 7 years of relevant experience

    Preferred Qualifications - Education & Prior Job Experience

    + Experience working with internal stakeholders with whom Flight Training Planning and Scheduling works

    + Experience in a Flight Operations Training, Flight Service Training, Crew Scheduling or related function at a supervisory level

    + In depth knowledge of Airline Training Management System (TMS)

    + Familiarity with American Airlines pilot agreement and FAA flight crew regulations

    Skills, Licenses & Certifications

    + Ability to develop a team that performs accurately under high volume and a pressured workload environment

    + Knowledge of Flight Operating Systems (FOS)

    + Ability to apply a customer-centric mindset that can be applied to the Flight Operations community we serve

    + Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel and Outlook

    + Strong managerial, interpersonal and communication skills

    + Must be detail oriented
