    The Experienced Welder will be responsible for production welding, service & repair welding, prototype building and fitter welding in a high paced production environment. This role will work with supervisors to ensure continuous improvements in work cells, hitting quotas, welding according to pre-set parameters using MIG, ARC and TIG welding processes.

    Responsibilities

    + Conduct repairs, modifications and retrofits

    + Conduct technical inspections

    + Fabrication of custom prototypes from supplied drawings, fabrication of custom jigs and fixtures

    + Perform maintenance on returned products to be refurbished or re-worked to customer specifications

    + Keep detailed and accurate reports and documentation

    + Operate manual or semi automatic flame cutting equipment

    + Operate brazing and soldering equipment

    + Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded

    + Repair machinery and other components

    + Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws

    + Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety

    + Conduct project review and planning

    + Fuel tank and card lock repairs

     

    Education & Experience

     

    + High School Diploma or equivalent required

    + College or post secondary education is preferred

    + AWS D1.1 SMAW Certification required

    + Previous experience in Heavy Truck, Automotive or related industry experience preferred

     

    Other Skills and Abilities Required

     

    + Ensure compliance of all OHSA regulations, as well as Rush's Heath and Safety

    + Assist in development or repair estimates

    + Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology, compliance and repair techniques

    + Strong interpersonal skills and customer focused

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    + Ability to work independently in a busy environment

    + Experience with routine maintenance operations

    + Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing

    + Strong attention to detail
