    Yard Worker

    Job Description

    The Yard Worker will be responsible for evaluating wrecked vehicles by taking detailed photographs and documenting damages. This role requires the individual to efficiently gather necessary supplies, evaluate vehicle conditions, and ensure all information is accurately recorded.

    Responsibilities

    + Walk the yard and take 10-15 images of each car.

    + Gather supplies in the morning and be at the station by 8:10 AM.

    + Work from a supply cart to ensure all needed items are available.

    + Evaluate wrecked vehicles using a questionnaire on a mobile tablet.

    + Scan vehicles' stock and VIN numbers to ensure information accuracy.

    + Determine if the car can start, run, or drive.

    + Jump vehicles with jumper cables if needed.

    + Apply crash tape and window covers to vehicles.

    + Secure all items left in the vehicle in the trunk.

    + Double-check all information and photos for accuracy.

    Essential Skills

    + Attention to detail.

    + Valid driver's license.

    + Ability to work independently.

    + Steel toe boots are required.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Automotive mechanical experience is a plus.

    + Experience in general labor, landscaping, or material handling.

    + Computer knowledge and experience with hand and power tools.

    Work Environment

     

    You will be working primarily outdoors in all weather conditions, so dressing appropriately for the weather is essential. The role operates on a 1st shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM. Safety gear, such as steel toes, a vest, and gloves, is required.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Markham, IL.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
