JOB SUMMARY:
The NYC Education Program Coordinator oversees the day-to-day programmatic experience for candidates with an emphasis on the New York City Teaching Fellows, STEAM, and other Manhattan related programs. Serving as the primary point of contact for program progression, the Coordinator leads semesterly meetings with candidates and faculty advisors to ensure alignment, compliance, and steady advancement through the program. The Coordinator collaborates closely with the Office for Student Success within RSA CEHS to align program design with institutional priorities and ensure a high-quality candidate experience.
Working in collaboration with full-time content faculty advisors, the NYC Education Program Coordinator serves as the central liaison ensuring that candidates experience continuity and support across academic and clinical settings. The Coordinator monitors Manhattan Center RSA CEHS education program logistics, manages communication across departments, and facilitates alignment of all processes related to enrollment, progression, and program completion.
The NYC Education Program Coordinator role will operate out of Adelphi University’s Brooklyn Center through the remainder of the current term. In alignment with the University’s site transition, the position will relocate to our new Manhattan location in the new year. Applicants must be willing to work onsite in Manhattan and support continuity of operations during the relocation period.
SALARY INFORMATION:
In compliance with New York’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $60,000 - $65,000. Adelphi University considers factors such as departmental budgets, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. An annual base salary higher than the range may be warranted in circumstances where a candidate has demonstrable equivalent prior higher education experience at another University.

REPORTS TO: Dean of the Ruth S. Ammon College of Education and Health Sciences
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
+ Assist Program Faculty in the review of transcripts and monitor the all RSACEHS Manhattan center program admissions’ applications and NYCPS updates; provide frequent communication to program applicants on any missing requirements/conduct deficiency reviews; assist advisors in helping fellows determine an acceptable timeline for completion of deficiencies.
+ Confirm course scheduling follows standard university timeline with attention to the needs of NYC Teaching Fellows specific needs and update the Director of Operations in accordance with deadlines.
+ Conduct academic advisement and complete candidate registration at least once per semester. Meet individually with each candidate to discuss their program of study; enter advising meeting records into online advisement platform; review of student administrative issues (Leave of Absence/withdrawals/Incompletes/Workplace status, etc). Facilitate manual registrations when necessary.
+ Organize with faculty directors a special orientation meeting before each semester to provide accepted candidates an opportunity to meet faculty advisors and University support staff. The meeting will serve to review program requirements and schedules prior to the beginning of classes and to facilitate the course registration. Cohorts will receive a plan of study that will include course offerings, New York State certification guidelines and a calendar for Teacher Examination and Workshop dates and deadlines.
+ Oversee clinical practice supervision to ensure candidates receive ongoing support from experienced field supervisors in their classrooms. Ensure all first-year candidates undergo two fall and two spring site visits, each including a pre-observation conversation, video-recorded observation, and post-observation. Ensure that Second-year candidates have one site visit in the fall and one in the spring, totaling six throughout their program. Assist and ensure that field supervisors are equipped with effective clinical supervision training, and are paired with candidates to maintain robust communication structures that exist between Adelphi, school staff, and candidates.
+ Assist with the hiring, onboarding, and training of field consultants and facilitate regular meeting checkpoints to provide updates on the Field Development Index (FDI) and NYCPS survey reports.
+ Lead monthly meetings discussing progress and student issues; regularly liaise with the New York City Public Schools; answer all candidate emails regarding payment, reimbursement, etc.
+ Review, approve, and maintain documentation of the NYCTF’s hiring commitments and ensure compliance with the “Eligible Schools List.” Assist with appeals upon request.
+ Coordinate with Assistant Director of OSS to perform graduation clearance/reconciliation of degree audit (Stellic) with program sheet and Teacher Certification requirements; check for deficiencies; reconcile transfers from SBS training and any substitutions/waivers
+ Process tuition stipends via grants and One Stop; work with grants office and One Stop on stipend distribution (align with NYCPS and other IHEs); grant reporting and analysis; communicate with SUNY EWI on requirements and issues that arise. Maintain compliance with OSOS training requirements for grant-related purposes.
+ Support the MGSP scholarship and assist with necessary communications to program faculty, students, and governmental contacts.
+ Perform other job related duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
+ Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field is required.
+ Master’s degree in education or a related field is preferred.
+ Two years of job-related experience is required; for example, in a public school setting or in higher education.
+ Knowledge of best practices in marketing and recruitment in higher education.
HOURS:
+ Monday– Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm.
+ Weekend/evening hours as assigned.
