Job Title: Mechanical Engineer - FEA
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer specializing in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to develop and execute mechanical design analyses for RV chassis and house structures, as well as marine hull structures. This role encompasses the entire design phase from conception through testing and handoff to business units for production.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct CAE simulations to support engineering analysis on RV and marine structures.
+ Perform static analysis, including linear and non-linear assessments.
+ Execute dynamic analysis, including implicit and explicit methods, covering modal analysis, frequency response, transient dynamic analysis, impact analysis, and drop test analysis.
+ Conduct multibody simulations involving joint reactions and mechanism simulations.
+ Evaluate fatigue durability, including crack growth, stress and strain-life, and vibration fatigue.
+ Support engineering studies on designs and materials.
+ Provide input into and assist with the execution of system and vehicle level testing as needed.
Essential Skills
+ Expertise in FEA analysis and CFD.
+ Strong mechanical engineering experience.
+ BS in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
+ A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
+ Experience in taking vehicle-related products from concept to production manufacturing.
+ Proficiency in developing body structures, including unibody and body-on-frame designs.
+ Experience with metal and composite materials and construction methods.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ MS in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field is preferred.
+ Experience with composite materials, including thermoplastics, thermosets, resin systems, prepregs, and honeycomb cores.
+ Familiarity with composite sandwich panels and various lamination methods.
+ Prior vehicle engineering experience in automotive, recreational vehicles, heavy-duty equipment, trucks, buses, trailers, delivery vans, and aircraft.
+ Ability to create designs that enhance quality, safety, reliability, and maintainability.

The work environment involves collaboration within a manufacturing industry and an engineering team. The role requires handling various technologies and equipment to support design and testing activities.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Eden Prairie, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $75.00/hr.
