Jacobs is growing our hydrogeology team to support our client’s needs for hydrogeologic characterization, wellfield services, water resource sustainability and resiliency, and water resources planning, and permitting. We’re looking for a highly motivated emerging Hydrogeologist to work with our Southeast Groundwater and Surface Water Team on various projects for utilities, local, state, federal, and private-sector clients.
Based in our Sarasota office or Southwest Florida office (Naples), you’ll learn from other experienced geologists, scientists, engineers, and project managers who are ready to mentor you, and you’ll have opportunities to pass your knowledge on to others. Each day, you will be an important team member with ample opportunity to work with your peers and colleagues in a collaborative team environment. We are seeking a self-motivated professional with a desire to grow personally and professionally with each project in our diverse and fast-paced office. Additionally, you’ll work with our diverse regional team of geologists, engineers, and scientists located in offices throughout the state, nation, and globally. Candidates should be detailed oriented, quality driven, and team-focused.
As a Hydrogeologist, you’ll have opportunities to work on Water Resources and Water Supply projects in Florida, across the US, and internationally. You’ll gain valuable experience in a variety of water supply projects, site investigations, underground injection control, rehabilitation, and well construction projects and provide subcontractor oversight. You’ll work with professional geologists and professional engineers as you gain the experience necessary to attain your professional designation. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to performing, analyzing, and interpreting well and aquifer performance tests (i.e., variable-rate and constant-rate pumping tests), lithologic sampling and description, groundwater sampling, drilling data collection and analysis, and hydrogeologic characterization. Work will be balanced with time spent in the field, office, and/or working remotely (i.e. from home with a flexible hybrid schedule) on data evaluation and interpretation, analytical analyses, report writing, and coordinating logistics for project activities. Safety will be your priority, as you contribute to "incident free" operations and maintain the highest standards of Health & Safety in everything you do.
Continue or begin your career at Jacobs - where we’ll empower you to learn and grow as you support projects that make our world better.
