Job Title: Senior Controls Engineer

Job Description

Design, develop, debug, and maintain controls hardware and software for production machines in accordance with project and customer specifications. Engage in diverse projects spanning from concept development to finalization, leveraging engineering principles to address technical hurdles and enhance product/equipment functionality.

Responsibilities

+ Design and develop controls hardware and software for production machines.

+ Ensure projects meet customer specifications and quality standards.

+ Debug and maintain existing controls systems to improve efficiency.

+ Collaborate with clients to adhere to project limitations and deadlines.

+ Contribute to team efforts in overcoming complex challenges.

+ Lead or assist in leading projects from concept to completion.

+ Envision and create machine designs from scratch in factory settings.

+ Travel nationally and internationally up to 20% to support project needs.

Essential Skills

+ Practical knowledge of electrical design, including reading and interpreting schematics and electrical designs (NFPA and ISO).

+ Proficiency in PLC programming, automation, and controls engineering.

+ Five or more years of experience with industrial controls platforms in the automation industry.

+ Experience with safety PLCs, safety devices, and failsafe electrical designs.

+ Proficient in using Microsoft business software.

+ Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering/electro-mechanics or similar.

+ Experience with PLCs & SPLCs such as Rockwell, Siemens, Omron, Beckhoff.

+ Experience with HMIs and programming industrial robots preferred.

+ Familiarity with machine vision applications like Cognex and Keyence.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Alpharetta, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00/yr.

Salary for this position will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Benefits, including healthcare, retirement plans, and paid time off, will be discussed during the interview process.
