    We are seeking an experienced phlebotomist who exhibits proficiency in blood collection by venipuncture and capillary technique from patients of all age groups. The ideal candidate will have experience with pediatric blood collections and difficult draws in medical office buildings. You should possess a comprehensive understanding of compliance and safety, and be able to effectively communicate its importance to other employees. Additionally, this role requires the ability to provide orientation and training for patient service technicians.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform blood collection using venipuncture and capillary techniques from patients of all ages.

    + Conduct pediatric blood collections and handle difficult draws.

    + Ensure compliance and safety standards are upheld and communicated to staff.

    + Provide orientation and training to patient service technicians.

    + Work under the supervision of the lab supervisor and team lead.

    + Must be available to work shifts between 6am and 11pm every day of the week.

    Essential Skills

    + Phlebotomy skills including venipuncture and neonatal techniques.

    + Lab Assistant experience.

    + CPT I certification.

    + Proficiency with computer systems, particularly lab systems like Cerner.

    + Customer service skills.

    + At least six months, preferably one year of experience in an acute or sub-acute setting.

    + Experience with pediatric and neonatal draws.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High School Diploma.

    + CPT 1 License.

    + Experience in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

    + Ability to draw 45-55 patients in an 8-hour shift in an outpatient setting.

    + Ability to draw 20-30 patients in an 8-hour shift in an inpatient setting.

    + Excellent attendance and behavior record.

    + Flexibility with shifts and hours.

    + Ability to travel to various Medical Office Buildings throughout South Orange County.

    Work Environment

    The role involves working in high-volume Medical Office Buildings, with the potential to transition to the main lab in a hospital setting upon permanent employment. The work environment is dynamic, requiring flexibility to travel between draw stations located in various locations including Aliso Viejo, Irvine, Foothill Ranch, Huntington Beach, Santa Ana, and San Juan Capistrano.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Irvine, CA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.
