Description We are looking for a highly skilled and customer-focused Branch/Retail Banking Clerk to join our team in Austin, Texas. This role combines the responsibilities of both a Teller and a Relationship Banker, requiring exceptional interpersonal abilities and attention to detail. As a Contract to permanent position within the financial services industry, this opportunity offers the chance to grow and develop while delivering outstanding service to customers.

Responsibilities:

• Serve customers in a detail-oriented and courteous manner by processing various transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, checks, money orders, and bond redemptions.

• Develop strong relationships with customers by identifying their needs and recommending suitable banking products and services.

• Maintain and balance a cash drawer daily, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures.

• Support senior tellers by assisting with error resolution, answering questions, and performing teller duties when required.

• Open new accounts and process banking products and services based on customer consultations.

• Meet referral and sales goals through proactive engagement in sales and marketing activities.

• Advise customers on branch financial services, providing knowledgeable and friendly guidance.

• Assist other banking centers as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a team-oriented approach.

• Solicit loan applications, ensure proper documentation, and follow up to close loans accurately.

• Ensure compliance with all bank policies and procedures while addressing customer inquiries effectively. Requirements • Proven experience in cash handling and retail banking operations.

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive customer relationships.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Proficiency with PC applications and familiarity with banking software.

• Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks efficiently.

• Knowledge of financial products and services, including new account opening processes.

• Demonstrated ability to meet sales and referral targets set by management.

• Familiarity with balancing cash drawers and identifying errors in transactions.
