    Description

    Our client in the non-profit sector is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join their finance team on a contract-to-permanent basis. This is an opportunity to leverage your accounting expertise in service of meaningful, mission-driven initiatives and to help strengthen the organization’s financial operations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Oversee and maintain the general ledger with a focus on accuracy and compliance with non-profit accounting standards

    + Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

    + Analyze financial data, trends, and variances to support organizational reporting and budgeting

    + Reconcile accounts, including bank and grant-specific accounts

    + Support fund accounting processes and ensure proper tracking and reporting of restricted funds and grants

    + Assist in the preparation of schedules and documentation for annual audit and tax filings

    + Mentor junior accounting staff and collaborate with program teams to support budget management and financial decision making

    Requirements

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

    + 4+ years of accounting experience, preferably with non-profit organizations or fund accounting

    + Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Excel

    + Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and organizational abilities

    + Excellent communication skills and a commitment to the mission of non-profit work
