Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you will play a key part in managing supplier data, ensuring accurate invoice processing, and improving accounts payable procedures. Based in Oak Brook, Illinois, this position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to process optimization and system validation.
Responsibilities:
• Audit and review supplier data for accuracy and completeness within the system.
• Update supplier profiles and ensure proper documentation of vendor information.
• Evaluate supplier invoice submission methods and collaborate with vendors to transition to electronic submission platforms.
• Provide clear communication and guidance to suppliers regarding new processes and expectations.
• Perform manual validations of invoices processed through Oracle systems to ensure proper data extraction.
• Investigate recurring errors and vendor-specific issues, recommending template changes for improved accuracy.
• Develop and maintain procedural documents to capture error types, solutions, and process updates.
• Identify and recommend improvements to streamline accounts payable processes, including automation opportunities.
• Act as a subject matter expert for inquiries related to supplier data, invoice processing, and system validation.

Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or accounts payable roles.
• Proficiency in General Ledger management and accounts payable processes.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle systems for invoice processing and validation.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Strong ability to document procedures and identify process improvement opportunities.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with vendors and internal teams.
• Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to ensure accuracy in supplier and invoice data.
• Familiarity with software documentation and process development.
