Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Stamford, Connecticut. In this long-term contract role, you will play a vital part in ensuring accurate processing of invoices and maintaining the integrity of financial records. This position offers a great opportunity to contribute to the efficient operation of a company in the environmental waste management industry.

Responsibilities:

• Process vendor invoices with precision and ensure they align with company policies.

• Verify and reconcile expense reports to maintain accurate financial records.

• Manage data entry tasks to ensure timely and accurate updates within the accounting system.

• Communicate with vendors and internal teams to address discrepancies or inquiries.

• Assist with auditing accounts payable transactions to ensure compliance and accuracy.

• Support month-end closing activities by preparing relevant reports and documentation.

• Maintain organized records of all accounts payable processes for easy reference.

• Collaborate with the finance team to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.

• Monitor outstanding payments and follow up to ensure timely resolution.

• Provide excellent customer service when interacting with external partners and colleagues. Requirements • At least 1 year of experience in accounts payable or a similar role.

• Proficiency in data entry and familiarity with accounting software.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy in financial processes.

• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with vendors and team members.

• Knowledge of expense reconciliation and auditing procedures.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Familiarity with customer service practices in a detail-oriented setting.

• Experience in the waste management or environmental industry is a plus.
