    Description

    Our client in the non-profit sector is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their dedicated finance team on a contract-to-permanent basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to use your accounting expertise to support mission-driven work and contribute to impactful projects in your community.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Process vendor invoices, expense reports, and check requests in accordance with non-profit accounting policies

    + Perform weekly payment runs (ACH, checks, wire transfers), ensuring accuracy and timely disbursement

    + Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies with vendors

    + Maintain organized AP records and assist with audit requests

    + Collaborate with program managers and department leaders on budget tracking and expense management

    + Support month-end closing activities for accounts payable

    Requirements

    + 2+ years of accounts payable experience, preferably in a non-profit or mission-driven environment

    + Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and MS Excel

    + Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

    + Solid understanding of AP and basic accounting principles

    + Effective verbal and written communication skills

    Preferred Attributes:

    + Familiarity with fund accounting or grant-related AP processes

    + Associate degree or relevant certification in accounting
