Robert Half Contract Finance and Accounting is looking for a skilled Tax Preparer to join a client based in Truckee, California. This is a long-term contract position ideal for someone with experience in preparing individual tax returns and managing online accounting systems. The role requires proficiency in tax preparation software and bookkeeping tools, ensuring accurate and efficient handling of client accounts. This is a hybrid, local remote opportunity, interested candidates must have recent experience in Lacerte tax software and QuickBooks Online.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare individual tax returns with precision and attention to detail.

• Utilize Lacerte Tax Software to complete tax-related tasks efficiently.

• Manage and maintain financial data using QuickBooks Online.

• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and filing deadlines.

• Provide clients with accurate and timely updates regarding their tax filings.

• Review and verify financial documents for accuracy prior to submission.

• Assist in resolving any discrepancies or issues related to tax filings.

• Collaborate with clients to gather necessary information and documentation.

• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations.

Requirements • Proven experience in preparing individual tax returns.

• Proficiency in using Lacerte Tax Software.

• Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online for accounting purposes.

• Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance standards.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.

• Strong problem-solving skills to address discrepancies or issues.

• Prior experience in a similar role is highly preferred.
