    JOB DESCRIPTION

    DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS** **:

    The work involves performing comprehensive recruitment and talent acquisition activities in support of the college’s mission to attract, develop, and retain a diverse, high-quality workforce. Under the general supervision of the Director of Talent Management & Employee Engagement, the incumbent serves as a key contributor to the college’s employee recruitment and onboarding efforts, ensuring an inclusive, efficient, and positive experience for candidates and hiring departments.

     

    The position is responsible for coordinating full-cycle recruitment for a variety of civil service, faculty, and professional positions; leveraging Workday and other digital platforms to identify and engage talent; and representing the college at recruitment and community events to strengthen candidate pipelines. The incumbent participates in special projects and assignments related to talent acquisition, onboarding, and process improvement within the Human Resources department, ensuring compliance with Union CBAs, Civil Service regulations, institutional policies, and equal employment opportunity standards.

     

    Work is performed with a considerable degree of independent judgment and initiative, requiring strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.

     

    **TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES** :

    + Serves as the Workday Talent Acquisition Administrator, reviewing and approving requisitions, managing candidate workflow, ensuring accuracy of recruitment data, and supporting hiring managers throughout the selection process.

    + Leverages online and social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Handshake, HigherEdJobs, Indeed, and professional networks) to identify, attract, and engage diverse and qualified candidates for college positions.

    + Represents the college at job fairs, community events, and higher education or industry conferences to promote employment opportunities and strengthen candidate pipelines.

    + Collaborates with hiring managers and search committees to develop inclusive recruitment strategies that align with the college’s mission, values, and commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.

    + Assists with selection activities, including evaluating interview questions for consistency and fairness, and participates in interviews when required to support effective hiring decisions.

    + Oversees the verification procedures used to confirm minimum qualifications for all applicants selected for interviews, ensuring adherence to Civil Service rules, collective bargaining agreements, and institutional hiring standards.

    + Exercises oversight of the I-9 verification and record-keeping processes to ensure compliance with federal guidelines and secure maintenance of all required documentation.

    + Reviews pre-employment background checks, ensuring timely completion and compliance with institutional policy; escalates complex or flagged results to the appropriate Background Review Committee (BRC) for further assessment.

    + Coordinates the onboarding process for all new employees, ensuring a smooth, welcoming, and compliant transition into the college community.

    + Facilitates new hire orientation sessions; regularly reviews and updates orientation materials to reflect current policies, campus culture, and employee resources.

    + Monitors key recruitment metrics (e.g., time-to-fill, applicant diversity, source effectiveness) and recommends improvements to enhance the candidate experience and overall hiring efficiency.

    + Communicates effectively with applicants, hiring managers, and campus partners regarding recruitment timelines, interview processes, and selection outcomes.

    + Stays current with best practices in higher education recruitment and evolving trends in talent acquisition technology, outreach, and candidate engagement.

    + Drives continuous improvement by leveraging Workday updates and ongoing stakeholder feedback to deliver efficient and positive recruitment experience for candidates, hiring managers, and internal partners.

    + Related work as required.

    **KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES** :

     

    Candidates must be able to demonstrate awareness, sensitivity, and commitment to promoting an inclusive, diverse, and equitable learning and working environment that reflects the values of the college community. Demonstrated skill in interpersonal communication, customer service, and relationship building with applicants, employees, and college stakeholders. Good knowledge of current methods and best practices in recruitment, onboarding, and personnel administration, including the use of human resources information systems (HRIS) such as Workday. Good knowledge of modern office operations and workflows, with strong proficiency in productivity software, collaboration platforms, and digital communication tools used in today’s HR and recruitment environments. Ability to maintain accurate records and data, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with applicable employment and Civil Service regulations. Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret recruitment data and metrics to inform sourcing strategies, improve candidate pipelines, and support data-driven decision-making throughout the hiring process. Strong ability to analyze and interpret information, organize multiple priorities, and follow detailed oral and written instructions with accuracy and efficiency. Resourcefulness, sound judgment, and dependability in handling confidential and sensitive information.

     

    **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS** :

     

    Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration or related field and three (3) years of experience in HR recruitment or related administrative duties.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS** **:

    Experience in using Workday Recruiting or other hiring platforms to manage full recruitment workflows from requisition to hire.

    PHYSCIAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    • The incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation

    • Duties are typically performed in an office environment but may occasionally require movement across campus locations

    • The position may require occasional lifting and carrying of materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds

    • Extended periods of sitting, standing, and use of a computer are common

    • The role requires the ability to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and electronically
