    SpecialtyRx is a Long-Term Care pharmacy providing pharmaceutical services to long term care facilities and assisted living communities. SpecialtyRx takes pride in delivering personalized care and quality pharmacy services.

     

    Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Pharmacist Intern to join our team. This paid per diem internship offers hands-on experience in providing pharmaceutical care to residents of long-term care facilities, including nursing homes and assisted living communities. Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, you will assist with medication management, patient counseling, and other essential pharmacy services to ensure optimal patient care.

    Responsibilities

    + Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare providers.

    + Participate in medication therapy management activities, including identifying potential drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications.

    + Provide clinical support by assisting in drug utilization reviews, monitoring patient progress, and communicating findings to the healthcare team.

    + Assist in maintaining pharmacy documentation and ensuring that pharmacy operations meet high standards of safety and accuracy.

    + Work closely with pharmacists, healthcare providers, and other members of the team to optimize medication therapy

    + Perform “on-call” duties when required.

    Qualifications

    + Currently enrolled in an accredited Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) program

    + Must be in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy, with an intern license

    + Previous experience in Hospital and Retail pharmacy or other medical fields

    + Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    + Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time

    + Detail oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

    + Proficient in the use of pharmacy software systems and Microsoft Office; Framework / ECM software knowledge a plus
