    Job Title: RN Weekend Program - Cardiac Evaluation Unit

     

    Department: Cardiac - Cardiac Evaluation

     

    Hours Per Week: Full-Time Weekend Program (36 hours per week)

     

    Schedule: NIGHTS, Weekend Program

     

    Weekend Program Details: The Weekend Program requires employees to work all scheduled hours between 7am Friday and 7am Tuesday for a minimum of 26 weeks. Employees are eligible to remain in the program permanently or after the 26 week minimum commitment return to a different schedule and shift. In addition to the Weekend Only add-on pay, employees in the program remain eligible for applicable premium pay (shift differential, overtime, etc.).

    SUMMARY:

    As a Registered Nurse (RN), you’re the engine and the heart of patient care at Rochester Regional Health.     Join an acute intermediate-care telemetry team where you’ll build a strong, versatile foundation in cardiac nursing. The Cardiac Evaluation Unit specializes in caring for patients recovering from complex cardiac events and procedures, offering an excellent environment for nurses looking to deepen their cardiac expertise.

    On 5100, you will:

    + Care for patients with heart failure, post-MI, and those requiring continuous oxygen therapy

    + Manage post–Cath Lab patients, including TAVR and PCI

    + Care for post-device patients (pacemakers, AICDs) and those with temporary pacemakers or arterial sheaths

    + Administer and monitor cardiac drips for arrhythmias and CHF

    + Collaborate closely with the Cath Lab team, with strong opportunities for career progression into Cath Lab nursing

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Patient Care & Service. Promote and restore patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; performing various treatment procedures; providing physical, educational and emotional support to patients, friends and families; supervising assigned team members

    • Planning & Communication. Develop and document individualized care plans customized for each patient’s unique needs, with support from the interdisciplinary health team as needed; maintain effective communication to convey patient health status, treatment plans and progress

    • Electronic Health Record (EHR) Management. Demonstrate proficient use of an EHR – including accurate patient and provider documentation and communication

    • Compliance. Adhere to required department and system protocols, regulations (local, state, federal) and education requirements

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Diploma or Associates Degree in Nursing required

    • RN License in New York State

    • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred

    • At least 6 months RN experience preferred.

    LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:

    BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA)American Heart Association (AHA), RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)New York State Education Department (NYSED)

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

    The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
