    Special Education Teacher (EC Resource Teacher)

    About the Role:

    The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, provides quality services to special education students in grades K–12. This role requires a strong commitment to collaboration in planning and implementing student programs, including specialized instruction, tutorial assistance, and consultation with general education staff.

    Essential Responsibilities:

    + Deliver individualized and small-group instruction in a resource room and/or inclusion setting.

    + Support students with disabilities through specialized instruction and services.

    + Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.

    + Collaborate with general education teachers and staff to ensure student success.

    Minimum Requirements:

    + Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred).

    + Valid NC teaching certificate with EC General Curriculum (K–12) license (required).

    + Minimum of one year teaching experience (preferred).

    + Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred.

    + Current CPR certification (if applicable).

    Position Details:

    + Caseload: Approximately 23 students

    + Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:45 AM – 2:50 PM

    + Hours: 37.5 per week

    + Contract Length: Through May 22, 2026

    + Start Date: As soon as possible (allow 2–3 weeks post-offer)
