Position Title:

STS Elementary Teacher (Sixth Grade)

Anticipated Employment Date:

January 12, 2026 to approx. March 13, 2026

Anticipated Work Location/Hours:

Veronica E. Connor Middle School 7:25 AM to 2:25 PM

Salary:

Per diem $170 with increase/retroactive to collective

bargaining agreement after 40 days.

Duties:

Position teaches ELA and math

Qualifications/Skills/Abilities Required:

1. NYS certification Childhood Education 1-6; or Pre K-6 required

2. Familiarity with NYS Next Generation English Language Arts Learning Standards and the NYS Science P-12 Learning Standards

3. Experience with guided reading, I-Ready assessments, and My Path.

4. Ability to use data driven instruction to improve student achievement.

5. Ability to cooperate and collaborate with grade level teams and special area teachers.

6. Strong use of technology to support professional responsibilities; ability to integrate technology into instruction.

9. Strong written and oral communication skills

10. Strong work ethic; ability to collaborate with team/school

11. Provide an inclusive and engaging learning environment in an integrated co-taught classroom setting.

11. Evidence of positive classroom management skills.
