Responsibilities You will use advanced data science methodologies to design and implement data collection systems and analytical frameworks. You will use analytics software, tools, emerging technologies, and various data sources to perform exploratory analyses on new and archival data sources. You will conduct complex analysis using programming languages such as Python, R, Structured Query Language (SQL), and machine learning methods and algorithms, to process and transform raw data into actionable insights. You will prepare and disseminate analytical reports, dashboards, and visualizations to support data-driven decision-making by senior leadership. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: - Serve as technical advisor on data management and data analytics related to Shore requirements for worldwide installations and special areas. - Complete data collection, cleaning and integration for multiple complex data sets simultaneously, including working with both structured and unstructured data to complete qualitative and quantitative statistical analysis. - Develop analytic reports, visualizations and dashboards using Tableau, Qlik, PowerBI or other comparable visualization tools. - Prepare and disseminate analytical reports, dashboards, and visualizations to support data-driven decision-making by senior leadership. - Interpret results of data analysis into clear, actionable communications that equip decision makers to understand ongoing program status and make informed, data-driven decisions. - Develop and implement policies and procedures for integrating the role of data analysis into finished intelligence products and to quantify and measure daily work metrics. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Basic Requirements: Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position. or Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience. Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled.
