Position Summary:

As a member of the Personal Care Home team, Activities Manager assists the residents by providing activities that allows the residents to function at their highest level. Activities Manager provides for an ongoing program of activities designed to meet the interests, physical, mental, and psychosocial well‐being of each resident.

Education, License & Cert:

A High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

Preferred, but not required. Ability to read, write, and understand written and oral communication.

Essential Functions:

Provide a plan of activities appropriate to meet the needs of the residents that includes, but is not limited to:

+ Group social activities.

+ Indoor and outdoor activities, which may include daily walks.

+ Activities in the community

+ Spiritual programs

+ Opportunity for resident involvement in planning and implementation of the activities program.

+ Creative activities such as arts, crafts, music, drama, educational programs.

+ Exercise activities.

+ Prepare a monthly calendar of activities written in large print and posted in a prominent location that is visible to residents and visitors

+ Promotion of facility / community interaction

+ Maintain required documentation.

Other Duties:

+ Completes annual training of 12 hours, Department of Public Welfare Medication Course, and pass written test within 90 days of hire.

+ Participate in performance improvement and activities.

+ Keeps informed of fire safety and disaster programs.

+ Attends staff meetings, minimum of 6 per year.

+ Other duties as assigned
