Housing & Food Services (HFS) has an outstanding opportunity for a** **Maintenance Mechanic 2** **to join their team.
Housing & Food Services supports over 10,000 student residents and operates 40+ dining locations on campus. With a team of over 1,200 staff and students, HFS is dedicated to enhancing student life through teamwork and excellent service.
Position Purpose
Perform skilled work in the operation, maintenance and repair of the Department’s residential facilities, grounds, and equipment. Provide direct customer service to the Department’s residential customers.
Description of Duties
+ Perform general and preventative maintenance, repair and replacement of plumbing fixtures, lighting fixtures, floors, windows, doors, countertops, cabinetry, and appliances in the Department’s residential facilities.
+ Perform general maintenance and repair as scheduled to prepare apartments for occupancy.
+ Operate hand and power tools in a skilled manner.
+ Coordinate services with Residential Services office staff and other units, including Campus Facilities Services.
+ Use a computerized work management system and mobile devices.
+ Drive service truck as required; load and unload materials and supplies.
+ May lead or instruct helpers or other maintenance workers as required.
+ Perform related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Completion of a recognized apprenticeship as a journey worker, OR full-journey status in a union; OR four years’ applicable work experience. Vocational training may be substituted for work experience on a year-for-year basis. Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator’s license may be required.
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.

+ Work under general supervision where work is carried out independently and evaluated on results achieved
+ Willingness to work any shift
+ Achieve success with minimal supervision
+ Ability to use the Internet, email and basic computer applications
Desired Qualifications
+ Experience working directly with customers or clients
+ Experience working in a multi-tenant residential or university environment
+ Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
Conditions of Employment
+ A satisfactory outcome from the employment verification and reference check processes.
+ Possession of a valid State of Washington Driver’s License.
Compensation, Benefits and Position Details
Pay Range Minimum:
$58,668.00 annual
Pay Range Maximum:
$77,892.00 annual
