Job Summary
This internship supports Talent Ready Utah’s role as the State Work-Based Learning Intermediary, housed within the Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education. The intern will assist with the events and ongoing sustainment of Utah’s statewide Talent Ready Utah Pathway programs—including Utah Diesel Tech, Rotor, Aerospace, Tech Sales, and Architecture, Engineering & Construction—as well as the state’s youth apprenticeship model, the Talent Ready Apprenticeship Connection ( TRAC ). Responsibilities will include coordinating events such as graduations, recruitment nights, and job fairs; maintaining program materials and website updates; and supporting collaboration between education and industry partners to strengthen Utah’s work-based learning ecosystem.
Responsibilities
Event Coordination & Logistics
+ Plan and execute pathway and apprenticeship events including graduations, recruitment nights, job fairs, and enrollment events.
+ Manage event logistics such as venue coordination, registration, marketing materials, setup and takedown, and day-of support.
+ Support scheduling, set-up, and coordination for TRAC Hospitality youth apprenticeship launch.
Program Sustainment & Communication
+ Assist in content creation to maintain and update TRU’s website and digital materials for each pathway program and TRAC .
+ Draft event announcements, partner spotlights, and content for social media.
+ Track program activities, partner updates, and success stories to support ongoing communication and reporting.
Stakeholder Engagement
+ Attend and provide administrative support for working committees/pathway meetings (agenda creation, note-taking, and follow-up).
+ Assist in convening meetings between education partners and industry leaders within TRU’s pathways and TRAC .
+ Support TRU’s State Work-Based Learning Intermediary by maintaining consistent communication among K12, higher education, and employer partners involved in TRU pathways and TRAC .
Pathway & Apprenticeship Program Support
+ Contribute to the sustainment and coordination of statewide pathway programs including:
+ Utah Diesel Tech Pathway ( UDTP )
+ Utah Rotor Pathway ( URP )
+ Utah Aerospace Pathway ( UAP )
+ Tech Sales Pathway
+ Utah Architecture, Engineering, and Construction ( UAEC ) Pathway
+ Provide event and outreach support for TRAC youth apprenticeship programs in Advanced Manufacturing and Hospitality.
Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications:
+ High School Diploma, or equivalency
+ Currently enrolled in a Utah institution of higher education. Preferably enrolled in business, event management, marketing, or hospitality.
Experience:
+ Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to analyze complex information and present it clearly and concisely.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Proactive, self-driven, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Skills & Abilities:
+ Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
+ Comfortable coordinating logistics and interacting with diverse partners (industry, education, and government).
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; experience with Canva, or basic website editing tools preferred.
+ Ability to take initiative, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively.
Preferences
Interest in education, workforce development, or event management.
Experience in event planning, communications, or marketing roles (student or volunteer experience accepted).
Availability to attend in-person events and meetings.
Flexible schedule to support key event dates during the academic year.
