    **Description** Burns & McDonnell’s Southwest region is seeking a self-motivated, senior-level environmental remediation and construction Project Manager to join its team of talented and successful environmental professionals. The Remediation Project Manager will lead project teams serving a portfolio of well-established clients and projects in multiple market sectors including utilities, mining, federal, and state programs. Leadership responsibilities will include project management, technical leadership, and client relationship development and maintenance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong project management expertise, technical leadership, and experience delivering multidiscipline environmental projects from concept through completion. Responsibilities include managing project teams, maintaining client relationships, coordinating with regulatory agencies, and ensuring successful execution of investigation and remediation projects. A broad understanding of remediation technologies, site characterization methods, and regulatory compliance is essential.

    + Responsible for preparing scopes of work, cost estimates and procurement packages for environmental investigation and remediation projects.

    + Lead project teams and provide technical oversight, mentoring, and coordination across engineering, construction, geology, and field services.

    + Manage project execution including QA/QC, risk management, scheduling, budgeting, change management, and contractor oversight.

    + Maintain communication with clients, regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives and deliverables.

    + Oversee preparation of work plans, investigation reports, feasibility studies, design documents, bid packages, and implementation plans for remediation and closure activities.

    + Support development of conceptual site models, data evaluation, cost forecasting, work sequencing, and alternative analyses.

    + Manage technical and construction activities for remediation and closure projects, including design-build and EPC delivery methods.

    + Supervise multidisciplinary project staff, providing direction on project priorities, field activities, and design requirements.

    + Participate in business development, client relationship building, and strategic planning to support growth within environmental services markets.

    + Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations including CCR rules, dam safety requirements, mining regulations, and remedial action standards.

    + Provide construction-phase leadership including field engineering oversight, RFI and submittal reviews, daily progress reporting, safety coordination, and contractor management.

    + Perform other duties as required to support successful project completion.

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Geology, Engineering, Environmental Science or related field from an accredited university.

    + Minimum of 7 years of related professional experience investigating and remediating environmental sites experience, 15 years of experience preferred.

    + Demonstrated success managing large, complex investigation and remediation projects across utility, mining, industrial, or federal programs.

    + Strong understanding of remediation technologies, CCR management practices, dam and impoundment systems, mine tailings, and closure design approaches.

    + Experience preparing technical reports, designs, specifications, cost estimates, and construction documentation.

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to coordinate diverse teams and maintain client relationships.

    + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to manage multiple concurrent technical and project management tasks.

    + Experience with project scheduling, cost analysis, financial forecasting, and work sequencing.

    + Ability to manage technical design tasks and lead remediation construction activities from planning through close-out.

    + Self-motivated professional capable of working within team environments and handling complex project responsibilities.

     

    This job posting will remain open a minimum of 72 hours and on an ongoing basis until filled.
