    Responsibilities

    + Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to patients based on individual needs.

    + Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions while communicating changes to the care team.

    + Administer medications and treatments as ordered and ensure patient understanding and safety.

    + Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teammates to coordinate and support patient care plans.

    + Educate patients and families on care needs, discharge planning, and health management.

     

    Additional responsibilities may vary based on department and unit specialty

    Qualifications

    + Associates Degree in Nursing

    + Bachelors of Science in Nursing preferred

    + One (1) year of hospital clinical experience or demonstrated clinical efficiency preferred

    + Current license in the state of Iowa or meets criteria established by Iowa Board of Nursing.

    + Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English.

    + Multicultural sensitivity.

    + Microsoft Office – basic computer skills.

    + Customer/patient focused.

    + Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions.
