Responsibilities

+ Assesses the needs of patients and families, providing appropriate prehospital medical care.

+ Adapts and adjusts the patient’s care plan according to the patient’s needs in the prehospital setting.

+ Promptly completes documentation to assure an accurate legal record of patient’s care.

+ Carries out high quality patient care while following the scope of practice set out by the State of Iowa Public Health Department Bureau of EMS and this ambulance service.

+ Must be able to transport a behavioral health patient utilizing an ambulance or secure car.

Qualifications

+ High school graduate or equivalent.

+ Successful completion of EMS training from an approved training course.

+ Current certification at EMT-PM level is required.

+ Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English.
