    Job Description

    **Operate precision machinery for high-performance battery production!** Teledyne Battery Products is seeking a COS Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you’ll operate and maintain COS equipment to produce lead-acid batteries, ensuring quality and safety at every step.

    What you’ll do

    + Set up, operate, and monitor COS machines to cast lead straps and weld them onto battery elements.

    + Align battery plates and lugs for accurate strap casting and welding.

    + Adjust machine settings to meet production specifications and quality standards.

    + Monitor lead temperature, mold alignment, and casting quality throughout the process.

    + Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs on equipment.

    + Conduct visual and dimensional inspections using gauges and measurement tools.

    + Document production data, downtime, and quality checks accurately.

    + Follow all safety protocols, including PPE usage and lead handling procedures.

    + Collaborate with maintenance and quality teams to resolve issues and improve processes.

    What you need

    + High school diploma or GED (required).

    + 2+ years of experience in manufacturing or machine operation.

    + Familiarity with casting, welding, or automated production equipment.

    + Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and technical instructions.

    + Strong attention to detail and quality standards.

    + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

    + Must be a U.S. Person (includes U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, and asylees) (required).

    Preferred

    + Experience with lead-acid battery manufacturing.

    + Forklift certification.

    + Knowledge of COS10S or similar automated strap-casting systems.

    Working conditions

    + Exposure to high temperatures from molten lead and heated molds.

    + Manufacturing environment with moderate to high noise levels.

    + Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 50 lbs).

    + Use of PPE including gloves, safety glasses, respirators, and protective clothing.

    + Strict adherence to safety and hygiene protocols for lead handling.

    + Shift work, weekends, or overtime may be required based on production needs.

    Salary Range:

    $32,300.00-$43,100.000
