Your role and responsibilities

The Product Manager (PM) for Astra DB is responsible for leading critical elements of the product strategy and requirements for our database-as-a-service offering: Astra DB. This includes management of the complete product/feature lifecycle from definition and introduction to end-of-life in close partnership with the Experience Design (XD) and Product Engineering teams. The PM develops requirements based on a balance of customer needs, industry best practices, future vision, near term opportunities, and day-to-day product issues. The PM regularly engages with executives, business partners, channel, enterprise buyers and end users / developers. The position is dynamic and the individual must be comfortable with frequent multi-tasking among technical, business, strategic, marketing and planning activities.

What you will do:

• You will interact with enterprises and developers on a regular basis to understand the requirements for their data platform.

• You will conduct research to maintain an ongoing understanding of the broader cloud data space, and identify industry best practices that should be applied to Astra DB.

• You will partner closely with the Product Engineering teams to write clear product requirements and user stories.

• You will partner closely with the experience Design (XD) team, to design delightful, intuitive, and friction free experiences that fulfill defined security requirements.

• You will illustrate the vision and key phases of the product deliverables with targeted timeframes via the Astra DB roadmap

Required technical and professional expertise

• Experience in Product Management with exposure to cloud delivered SaaS data or developer services.

• Passionate about security - we are protecting the world's data from attack.

• Experience working directly with engineering teams

• Translating compliance controls into product requirements and business outcomes

• An ability to navigate complex decision-making and effectively communicate across teams will be critical to success.

• Strong customer orientation with the ability to listen, organize and champion key initiatives and projects for product development

• Flexible, self-motivated, team player

• Ability to work independently or lead others on projects
