    Our client, a leading organization in electrical infrastructure and manufacturing support, is seeking a Substation Technician to join their team. As a Substation Technician, you will be part of the Electrical Maintenance Department supporting high-voltage substation operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to safety, which will align successfully in the organization.

     

    **Job Title:** Substation Technician

    **Location:** El Paso, Texas

    **Pay Range:** $95000 - $110000

     

    What's the Job?

     

    + Perform installation, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs on substation components, transformers, switchgear, and protective relays.

    + Diagnose and repair electrical issues using testing devices and a variety of hand and power tools, including responding to after-hours outages to restore service.

    + Conduct inspections and electrical testing of substation equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with applicable codes and safety standards.

    + Execute switching operations, load transfers, and equipment isolation in accordance with established lockout/tagout (LOTO) and electrical safety procedures.

    + Maintain accurate and detailed maintenance records, test results, and work logs for compliance and operational tracking.

     

    What's Needed?

     

    + Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.

    + Minimum 5 years of experience in high-voltage substation maintenance, repair, or operations (15kV–230kV+).

    + Demonstrated expertise in interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and one-line diagrams.

    + Strong knowledge of OSHA 10/30, NFPA 70E, NEC, and lockout/tagout safety procedures.

    + State or Journeyman Electrician License preferred.
