The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hospital Medicine at the University of Virginia (UVA) School of Medicine is seeking a qualified Assistant Professor of Research (Research Support Track). This is a non-tenure track faculty position focused on hospital-based research, initially on fall risk assessment and falls in the inpatient setting.

The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding the division’s research portfolio by developing new research programs, designing and executing independent research projects, conducting data analysis, and contributing to the preparation of manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication.

Other responsibilities include preparing and submitting grant proposals for research funding, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The candidate will also potentially supervise a research coordinator.This is a part-time (<50% FTE) term position contingent upon secured funding.

+ Ph.D. in Kinesiology or Physical Therapy.

+ Current active license to practice physical therapy in the State of Virginia.

+ A minimum of five years of research experience.

+ Experience with fall risk assessment in the hospital setting.

+ Strong oral and written communication skills, supported by a solid record of scientific publications and conference presentations.
