Spend your season at Greenland Point 4-H Learning Center, leading youth in environmental education, canoe trips, campfires, and community building. Statement of the Job:

You work closely with the Camp Directors to assist with various program needs including teaching camper lessons, filling in for staff time off blocks, supervising campers in and around cabins and shower house and other tasks to facilitate a smooth program. You work with all age groups of campers with ages ranging from 5-18. You will need high enthusiasm for working with children of various ages with a strong dedication to safety and fun.

Stipend is $3,000 - $6,000 for the season (6 to 10 weeks), commensurate with experience, including paid training, paid in bi-weekly installments.

Qualifications:

Required:

+ You need a High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)

+ You need to hold CPR/Basic First Aid OR willingness to take training (camp will provide training)

+ You have the ability to work with a diverse groups of youth and adults

+ With or without accommodation, you have the ability to travel outdoors over various terrain, responding efficiently in the event of an emergency

+ You have the ability to lead groups in various outdoor environments

Preferred:

+ Have a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record and willingness to drive 12 passenger vans. This camp is licensed by the State of Maine. You must meet the State of Maine requirement for driving vehicles, "Drivers of vehicles carrying campers must be at least 21 years of age and be approved by the camp’s auto liability insurer’s agent."

+ You can demonstrate responsible and safe decision-making skills in all aspects of outdoor camp programming.

+ You have a genuine motivation to work with children in a vibrant, high-energy outdoor setting where every day is an adventure.

+ You demonstrate responsible and safe decision-making skills, ensuring a secure and enjoyable experience for all campers during outdoor programming

About Greenland Point 4-H Learning Center:

The 4-H Camp & Learning Center at Greenland Point provides environmentally focused programming for Maine youth through summer camp and school programs. These programs are designed to inspire outdoor fun, practical woods-wise skills, and hands-on conservation education. Participants may learn a new outdoor skill or activity that will increase their awareness and understanding of ways that we can live fulfilling lives and make sound choices while doing the things that we enjoy. Through these programs, our mission is to teach youth to be effective and caring citizens through affordable environmental education and fun nature-based experiences.
