Jacobs is seeking a Licensed Water Operations Supervisor to join our collaborative team in San Marcos, CA. As the Operations Supervisor you’ll supervise the operation of a water treatment facility. You’ll work with project staff to oversee process control, compliance reporting, maintenance of equipment and quality control testing as well as ensuring a robust H&S culture. Partnering with other team members and our client you’ll apply knowledge of the principles, methods and tools employed in the general operation of engines, pumps, valves, motors and related equipment, water process control, permit compliance, and safe work practices. You’ll also have the opportunity to: monitor, record and operate the water treatment plant and SCADA system; diagnose operating problems and direct effective correction procedures; prepare required reports and maintain complete recordkeeping procedures; analyze recording instrument readings and laboratory test results and adjust various plant processes accordingly; perform plant inspections to determine efficiency of operations, cleanliness, and maintenance activities including remedial action in emergencies; supervise, evaluate and train employees and perform other duties as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Diagnose operating problems and directs effective correction procedures
• Prepare required reports and maintain complete recordkeeping procedures
• Analyze recording instrument readings and laboratory test results and adjusts various plant processes accordingly
• Inspect plant to determine efficiency of operations, cleanliness, and maintenance activities
• Supervise and train employees
• Conducts weekly safety meetings
• Determine remedial action in emergencies
• Assign replacement operators during emergency situations
• Prepare work schedules subject to approval of Project Manager
• Prepare reports and maintain records
• Manage CMMS program
• Perform employee evaluations
• Assist the Project Manager in conducting ongoing safety program
• Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted during the course of work
• Performs other duties as required
• High school diploma or equivalent
• T-4 Operator Certificate
• Ability to obtain T-5 Operator Certificate within 24 months
• Four years of experience in Water Treatment or related field
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Valid State Driver’s License with no major infractions
Ideally, You’ll Also Have:
• Knowledge and experience in the principles and practices of water treatment operations; chemical feed systems; general maintenance and operation of lift stations; safe work practices.
• Experience in Compliance Monitoring and Reporting including preparing and reviewing Monthly Reports.
• Knowledge of computer software includes but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, data management systems and be able to operate plant PLC’s and SCADA systems.
• Experience in utilizing CMMS Programs (Maintenance Connect) for preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Demonstrated ability to engage and motivate teams and to respond to emergency situations
