We are seeking a dedicated Project Engineer to support our dynamic projects, focusing on execution, contract management, and project timelines. The role involves assisting the Lead Project Manager in various tasks and acting as the initial point of contact for commercial and technical issues.
Responsibilities
+ Support the project based on fluctuating working hours to support execution, contract management, and project timelines.
+ Assist the Lead Project Manager in all assigned tasks.
+ Act as the first line of defense in response to commercial and technical actions from project engineers, suppliers, or on-site staff.
+ Manage Change Orders, Notices, Pay Applications, Schedule of Values, and develop Non-Conformance reports.
+ Ensure quality control and safety standards are met.
+ Prepare and manage contract documents, communicate contract terms, and mitigate risks.
+ Develop requests for proposals for labor, material, and other services, soliciting and evaluating bids.
+ Monitor contract performance to ensure fulfillment of obligations and milestones.
+ Update commercial terms in routine contracts such as purchase orders and Master Service Agreements.
+ Use tools to forecast, plan, estimate, and track project delivery and budget.
+ Conduct risk assessment and management activities.
+ Provide oversight for contract adherence in performance, cost, scope, schedule, and quality.
+ Identify and manage project dependencies and critical paths.
+ Develop documentation and illustrative materials to communicate complex topics.
+ Facilitate collaboration across functions and serve as a role model for teamwork.
+ Determine and communicate team assignments, directing and monitoring work efforts.
Essential Skills
+ 3-5+ years of experience in a related field.
+ Experience with large complex projects involving internal/external and labor/non-labor cost components.
+ Experience with combined cycle or simple cycle power plant projects.
+ General Contracting experience with heavy industrial work.
+ Knowledge of civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines.
+ Ability to interpret technical specifications and design drawings.
+ Clear and professional communication skills both verbally and in writing.
+ Proficiency in presenting information and responding to questions from managers, clients, and customers.
+ Strong mathematical skills to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Construction Management Degree (B.S) or similar in Engineering is preferred.
Work Environment
The role requires onsite work at the generating station, Monday through Friday, for a total of 50 hours per week.

This is a Contract position based out of Wheatfield, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00/hr.
