Job Title: Medical Assistant
Job Description
As a Medical Assistant, you will provide comprehensive care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients and their families. You will also support various clinic personnel, including physicians, residents, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, RNs, LPNs, and other non-clinical staff such as front office, medical records, billing, and referrals.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct hearing screenings and vision testing.
+ Obtain vital signs and prepare patients for examination.
+ Record patient history, medications, and allergies.
+ Set up procedures and collect specimens.
+ Label specimens and conduct throat swabs, urine testing, and venipuncture.
+ Perform laboratory tests and manage telephone triage.
+ Handle pharmacy calls and patient refill requests.
+ Conduct follow-up phone calls and room patients.
Essential Skills
+ 2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
+ High School Diploma or GED.
+ National Medical Assistant certification (CMA, AAMA, NCCT, RMA, AMT, CCMA, NHA, NCMA) with current/active status.
+ BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
+ Experience with Epic software.
+ Proven reliability and attendance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Must have one of the following:
+ Completion of a nationally recognized accredited medical assistant training program with a practicum of at least 160 hours.
+ Successful completion of a formal medical services training program from the United States Armed Forces.
+ Current Oregon Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) license and national EMT registration with NREMT.
Work Environment
Work is conducted for one of our clients in Portland, OR. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, totaling 40 hours per week. The initial assignment length is 13 weeks with a high likelihood of extension and potential for permanent conversion. The work environment is supportive and collaborative, with opportunities to further develop skills and advance within the organization. This is a Contract position based out of Portland, OR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
