Job Title: Sr Controls Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Sr Controls Engineer who will have the opportunity to work remotely with occasional travel to client sites or assist with relocation. You will be involved in designing, developing, debugging, and maintaining controls hardware and software for production machines, utilizing Beckhoff equipment and PLCs with C#. This role offers the chance to either continue using these tools or rewrite the Beckhoff equipment using more standard programming languages such as Ladder Logic, Structured Text, or Function Block Diagrams. You will engage in diverse projects from concept development to finalization, applying engineering principles to overcome technical challenges and enhance product functionality.
Responsibilities
+ Design, develop, debug, and maintain controls hardware and software in accordance with project specifications.
+ Engage in diverse projects from concept development to completion, leveraging engineering principles to address technical challenges.
+ Collaborate with clients, adhering to project limitations and meeting deadlines.
+ Lead and support team efforts in tackling complex challenges and achieving objectives.
+ Read, interpret, and troubleshoot electrical schematics and designs according to NFPA and ISO standards.
+ Travel nationally and internationally up to 15% of the time.
+ Perform effectively in high-pressure environments and coordinate tasks efficiently.
Essential Skills
+ 10-15+ years of total experience in controls engineering.
+ 1+ years of experience with Beckhoff PLCs.
+ 1+ years of experience with C# or a strong interest in learning C#, with familiarity in other object-oriented languages such as C or C++.
+ Proficient in PC-based Microsoft business software.
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills.
+ Practical knowledge of electrical design and troubleshooting.
+ Ability to envision and create design from scratch, akin to being an 'architect' rather than an 'editor'.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, electro-mechanics, or a similar field.
+ Experience with PLCs and SPLCs such as Rockwell, Siemens, Omron, and Beckhoff.
+ Experience with HMIs and programming industrial robots is preferred.
+ Experience with machine vision applications like Cognex or Keyence is preferred.
+ Robotics and vision experience are nice to have.
Work Environment
The work environment includes flexible working hours, with a typical 40-hour workweek. Employees can start their day anytime between 7am to 10am, focusing on deliverables and project deadlines. Client sites are often factory settings, and travel opportunities abroad are available, primarily in Europe. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $170000.00 - $350000.00/yr.
