• Firmware Engineer

    Actalent (Miramar, FL)


    Description

    The Firmware Engineer will primarily work on new product development (NPD) projects. This position will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementation of embedded firmware from conception through production start. He/she will work with engineering team to determine product improvement plans. He/she will liaise with Marketing, Project Management, and other cross-functional team members to achieve business and product objectives. The ideal candidate has a passion for delivering products that delight consumers, is detail oriented, and meticulous about documentation.

     

    • Design, develop, implement, and document embedded firmware or embedded software.

    • Work with internal and external resources on design optimization

    • Assist in component selection process

    • Plan and create effective test protocols to verify and validate engineering designs to product requirements

    • Support general software request from other departments, such as sales and technical support

    • Uses a combination of logic, experience, analysis and methodologies to make solid, timely decisions and solve problems.

    Embedded c, Firmware, C++

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    Must:

    -2+ years firmware development

     

    -Extensive C development

     

    -Experience with communication protocols such as Bluetooth, wifi, USB etc.

    Plus:

    -Hardware design experience

    -C++ experience

    -New product development experience

     

    -experience in industrial and/or HVAC products (motors, pumps, sensors, IoT/wireless comm)

    This is a Contract position based out of Miramar, FL.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $57.00/hr.
