Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic** **Job Description
A steel manufacturing facility in NW Houston is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to join their team. The role involves performing routine preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment, including replacing bearings, motors, pumps, sprockets, rollers, chains, drives, and conveyors. The position also requires basic electrical maintenance, such as tracing wires, replacing fuses and relays, and wiring up 3-phase motors. Additional duties include checking and refilling hydraulic fluids, lubricating equipment, and conducting basic HVAC and plumbing maintenance.
Responsibilities
+ Perform routine preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment.
+ Replace bearings, motors, pumps, sprockets, rollers, chains, drives, and conveyors.
+ Conduct basic electrical maintenance including tracing wires, replacing fuses and relays, and wiring-up 3-phase motors.
+ Check and refill hydraulic fluids and lubricate equipment.
+ Perform basic HVAC maintenance and plumbing tasks.
Essential Skills
+ 3+ years of mechanical maintenance experience.
+ Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
+ Proficiency in basic electrical maintenance such as fuses, relays, and motor wiring.
+ Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues.
+ Experience in using computers for maintenance tasks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bilingual abilities are a plus.
+ Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.
+ Experience with hand tools and welding is advantageous.

Work Environment
The position is based in a non-climate controlled manufacturing facility. The working hours are mid-shift from 12 PM to 8 PM, Monday through Friday, with potential for overtime and weekend work as needed. Initial training will be conducted on the day shift.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
