    We are currently hiring for Inventory Associates for a distribution center in the Washington, DC area. Qualified candidates must have experience operating a Cherry Picker and being comfortable working with heights. Experience working within inventory management systems and performing cycle counts is preferred.

     

    Shift: M-F 8am - 6pm (currently working OT)

     

    Pay: $24.03/hr

     

    Job Title: Inventory Associate

    Job Description

    Join a dynamic team where you will play a crucial role in counting, locating, and inspecting both food and non-food items in a warehouse environment. This position involves general warehouse duties, such as filling orders, loading and unloading trucks, moving and locating products, assisting with volunteer projects, and maintaining the cleanliness of the distribution center by following food safety and sanitation guidelines. You will work in a warehouse setting with some outdoor exposure and frequent temperature changes.

    Responsibilities

    + Accurately fill agency orders by utilizing the warehouse technology system to pull products, scan the product and rack label, and load the cases on pallets for shipping or pick-up.

    + Maintain accurate inventory levels by completing regular inventory counts with a goal of no less than 95% accuracy.

    + Ensure products are secured by safely stacking and shrink-wrapping them to pallets.

    + Safely operate warehouse equipment and adhere to all safety rules and procedures.

    + Assist other departments within operations based on daily warehouse needs.

    + Maintain a high level of sanitation and cleanliness throughout the building, including racks, freezer, and cooler locations.

    + Complete daily warehouse sanitation logs and equipment checklists.

    + Adhere to and follow all AIB Food Safety practices and procedures.

    + Check and load the NOVA transfer truck and backfill for the NOVA terminal as needed.

    + Provide backup for the Agency Mart Lead and the Receiving team as needed.

    + Cross-train to support various operations department needs.

    + Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in forklift, inventory management, picking, packing, general labor, material handling, and RF scanner operations.

    + Experience with warehouse operations, including inventory control, shipping and receiving, and pallet jack use.

    + At least 2 years of experience in a warehouse or operations environment.

    + Experience with handheld scanning devices and warehouse technology.

    + Ability to operate a motor vehicle, forklift, or pallet jack with a valid license.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + At least a High School Diploma or GED.

    + Ability to work overtime, including weekends.

    + Ability to communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, donors, and agency representatives.

    + Excellent communication and customer service skills.

    + Flexibility and ability to work well in a team.

    Work Environment

     

    The work environment is a warehouse setting, which is semi-climate controlled with exposure to coolers. You will experience some outdoor exposure during the workday and frequent changes in temperatures.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $24.03 - $24.03/hr.
