Job Title: Environmental Technician

Job Description

Join a dynamic team within a large nationwide environmental company as an Environmental Technician. You will play a crucial role in managing and transporting waste materials, ensuring proper handling and sorting of hazardous and non-hazardous substances. This is a second shift role and will go from 12 pm to 8:30 pm Monday through Friday. This position is full time offering competitive pay and benefits!

Responsibilities

+ Transport drums of waste and load them into hoppers.

+ Identify and categorize drums based on their labels.

+ Load and offload drums onto and from trucks.

+ Separate hazardous waste from non-hazardous waste and place them in designated areas within the warehouse.

+ Maintain the cleanliness of the warehouse by sweeping and organizing.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in construction and environmental science.

+ Knowledge of Hazwoper and general labor practices.

+ Mechanical skills and experience in environmental remediation.

+ Strong troubleshooting abilities.

+ At least 1 year of experience in environmental labor.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ 40 Hour Hazwoper certification is a plus, but not required as training will be provided.

+ OSHA 10 certification is preferred.

+ A proactive attitude and desire to build a career in the environmental field.

Work Environment

The work environment involves both indoor and outdoor settings in the environmental field. The shift is Monday through Friday, from 12 PM to 8:30 PM. The role is suitable for those who enjoy working in a diverse and dynamic setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Providence, RI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $21.00/hr.
