Job Title: Production Technician** **Job Description

This position of a Production Technician involves working on a smaller team to assemble water purification equipment. The role requires individuals to read and interpret blueprints or schematics, and use proper hand and power tools along with hardware to meet customer specifications. In addition to manufacturing new units, the team may also repair and rebuild used units for customers. Products handled are between 25-50 pounds. Responsibilities include mechanical assembly, plumbing, minor electrical assembly, and occasional data entry for reporting in Microsoft Excel or SAP.

Responsibilities

+ Read, interpret, and design schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, or reports to determine material requirements or assembly instructions.

+ Inspect, test, and adjust completed units to ensure that they meet specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements.

+ Position, align, and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly.

+ Disassemble units to replace parts as needed.

Essential Skills

+ 2 or more years of experience in mechanical assembly, machine building, or a similar technical role.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints or schematics.

+ Experience with using various hand and power tools.

+ Basic computer skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ High school graduate or trade school is preferred.

+ Skills in troubleshooting, electrical assembly, machine building, and panel building.

+ Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical wiring, and soldering.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Westmont, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
