    This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, at Spirit’s Defense Business Unit (“Spirit Defense”). Spirit Defense is a n independent supplier to the defense and space marketplace . Through innovative engineering and rapid prototyping excellence, Spirit Defense provides the capabilities, technologies and support customers need to succeed in their missions .

    Responsibilities

    Key Accountabilities:

    + Provides assistance in manufacturing and production processes

    + Applies principles and practices typically associated with quality engineering, industrial engineering, and manufacturing engineering functions and coordinates with other support disciplines or core functions as required

    + Develops quality and cost-effective methods, standards, and systems for production by applying production engineering principles

    + Participates in technical research on proposed projects

    + Offers guidance to manufacturing staff

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

    + 5-9+ years of related experience

    + Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance

    + Successful candidates must be able to secure Program Access approval

    + High School Diploma or GED

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree or Trade School certificate

    + Understanding of fabrication and/or assembly build processes and sequencing

    + Experience in Continuous improvement and Manufacturing Support

    + FSDA implementation

    + 3DX capability

    + Familiarity with drilling and welding hard metals

    + Familiarity with composite processes and materials

    + Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, team-based environment

    + Self-motivated; taking ownership of projects and issues, including follow through to closure

    + Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail

    + Project Management experience

    + Experience with MS Office Suite

    + Experience with SAP

    Union:

    This is a union-represented position.

     

    Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

     

    Summary Pay Range: $ 71,750.00 - $110,000.00
