Overview
This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company , supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures , including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades . Spirit Commercial ’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.
Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities:
+ Provides numerical control, machining, and programming technical support.
+ Analyze blueprints and engineering models to support NC programming.
+ Develop optimized programs to improve efficiency and run time, utilizing new cutter technology and techniques.
+ Plans, creates, verifies, and revises machine control data and documentation that directs the operations for numerically controlled machines.
+ Ability to collaborate in a team environment.
+ Implements fabrication, assembly, or installation manufacturing plans by coordinating with suppliers, engineering, and manufacturing teams.
+ Coordinate and communicates with engineering teams to influence and clarify design concepts.
+ Optimizes processes and addresses producibility issues as well as production & post-production problems.
+ May require understanding of machine kinematics, G-code programming, multiple machine controllers, CATIA functionality, and development of CATIA scripting and VB macros.
+ May be required to troubleshoot, test or develop machine code and post processor language.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
+ High School Diploma or GED
+ Ability to apply process knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Composite non-metallic, Electrical/Electronics, Machining, Sheet metal, Systems and Structures
+ 5+ years of professional experience in numerical control (NC) programming, concentrating on multi-axis machines, metallic or composite materials
+ Provides numerical control, machining, and programming technical support.
+ Analyze blueprints and engineering models to support NC programming.

Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience with multiple material types.
+ Parts Design/ Wireframe experience
+ Experience with frequent interaction with internal personnel in the manufacturing environment and occasionally with inter-organizational personnel and external customers.
+ Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D models.
+ Strong skills in Microsoft Office, especially with Excel
+ Strong knowledge of SAP
+ Experience with CATIA / ENOVIA
+ Vericut proficient
+ Ability to take a project from start to finish
+ Willingness to work cross-functionally
+ Experience with Post Processor Development
+ Bachelor of Science in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering or other related course of study a plus but not required.

This is a union-represented position.
Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range: $60,100 - $92,150
