Overview
This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company , supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures , including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades . Spirit Commercial ’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.
Responsibilities
+ Provides expertise in production engineering disciplines.
+ Applies principles and practices typically associated with quality engineering,industrial engineering, and manufacturing engineering functions andcoordinates with other support disciplines or core functions as required.
+ Develops quality and cost-effective methods, standards, ands ystems for production by applying production engineering principles.
+ Leads and participates in long-range technical research on proposed projects.
+ Provides guidance to less experienced manufacturing support staff.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
+ 5-9 years of experience (OR a Bachelor’s degree plus 6 years of experience) in manufacturing, continuous improvement, and manufacturing support
+ High School Diploma or GED
+ High level of understanding of composites and manufacturing
+ Experience with Continuous improvement
+ Strong listening skills and a willingness to learn
+ High level understanding of composite fabrication and manufacturing
+ Ability to work cross-functionally
+ Basic computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, navigate through 3-D engineering models)
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s Degree preferred not required. Industry experience a plus.
+ SAP experience is a plus; SAP is utilized daily
+ Manufacturing/shop floor experience is a preferred.
+ Lean and Six Sigma experience
+ Understands RCCA process, can prepare a business case, process improvements
Union:
This is a union-represented position.
Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range: $71,750 - $110,000
