    Job Title: Material Planner

     

    Material Planners are responsible for managing MRP and planning for every part that the organization makes or buys. They act as quarterbacks on a large team that supports operations and supply chain, calling the plays and ensuring everyone within Production and Supply Chain knows their next action. Material Planners interact with Engineering, Quality, Production, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure production schedules, supplier lead times, inventory levels, and engineering build timelines are aligned and managed effectively.

     

    Duties & Responsibilities

     

    + Responsible for demand, supply, and fulfillment planning within MRP

    + Ensure Bill of Materials, parts, and master data are maintained within ERP

    + Release purchase planning messages to Procurement in a timely manner

    + Release work orders to Production in a timely manner

    + Update demand to accommodate Engineering Change Orders and communicate changes to Procurement

    + Create visibility of material position through line of balance reports, material shortage reports, and clear-to-build reports

    + Work in a cross-functional team environment and demonstrate ability to collaborate with other functional groups to achieve company-wide goals

    + Perform other duties as assigned by management relevant to the role

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, supply chain, or related field

    + 3+ years of experience as a Material Planner, Production Planner, or equivalent role

    + Proven ability to produce line of balance reports and conduct clear-to-build reviews

    + Strong knowledge of material planning fundamentals including master data management, BOM management, order policies, and fulfillment processes

    + Proficiency in MRP and ERP systems, with strong technical aptitude and ability to leverage data-driven tools

    + Proficiency in MS Office and statistical analysis for planning and reporting

    + Demonstrated ability to use technology and analytics to improve planning processes and drive efficiency

    This is a Contract position based out of Long Beach, CA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
