Patient Account Representative

Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM CST

Pay: $19.50 per hour

About the Role

We are seeking a Patient Account Representative to join our team! In this role, you will manage patient accounts throughout the entire revenue cycle—from account creation to payment resolution. You will research accounts, follow up on claims, review remittances, and resolve disputed balances with both government and commercial payors. This position requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a thorough understanding of insurance processes.

Key Responsibilities

+ Research patient accounts using internal systems and online resources.

+ Follow up on uncollected balances by contacting payors and/or patients via phone, email, or online.

+ Review contracts and identify billing or coding issues; request re-bills or corrected claims as needed.

+ Document clear and concise notes in the patient accounting system regarding claim status and actions taken.

+ Maintain desk inventory to meet productivity and quality standards without backlog.

+ Access payer websites to gather data and resolve accounts efficiently.

+ Identify payor trends and communicate issues to management for corrective action.

Qualifications

+ 1–4 years of experience in medical claims, hospital collections, or AR with third-party payors.

+ Knowledge of ICD-9, HCPCS/CPT coding, EOB interpretation, and managed care contracts.

+ Prior experience with EPIC and ability to learn hospital systems quickly.

+ Strong understanding of the revenue cycle process from patient access through billing and collections.

+ High School diploma or equivalent; college coursework in business or accounting preferred.

+ Minimum typing speed: 45 WPM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Dallas, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr.
