    Behavior Technician (BT) – All Grade Levels (Beloit, WI)

     

    Schedule: Full-time, school-day hours (approx. 7:30 AM–3:30 PM, Mon–Fri)

     

    Pay: $20–$25/hour

     

    Contract: Start ASAP through June

     

    Training Provided: Amergis will certify you as a Behavior Technician

    Role Overview

    We’re seeking Behavior Technicians to support students across all grade levels with significant behavioral and social-emotional needs. Candidates must have strong experience managing challenging behaviors and either hold or be eligible to obtain a Wisconsin DPI license. Amergis provides paid BT certification training upon hire.

    Responsibilities

    + Provide 1:1 or small-group behavioral support for students with high needs (e.g., aggression, elopement, trauma-related behaviors).

    + Implement individualized behavior plans and reinforcement strategies (training provided).

    + Assist teachers with classroom management and proactive behavior supports.

    + Collect accurate behavior data and communicate progress to the team.

    + Use de-escalation techniques and follow crisis intervention protocols.

    + Maintain confidentiality and adhere to district safety guidelines.

    Qualifications

    + Education:

    + High school diploma or GED required (Associate’s or higher preferred).

    + If only GED: Must successfully pass the Master Teacher Exam prior to placement.

    + Ability to obtain a Wisconsin DPI Special Education Aide license (or currently licensed).

    + High behavioral experience—working with students with significant behavioral challenges in school, residential, or clinical settings.

    + CPI/NVCI or crisis intervention experience preferred (training available).

    + Reliable, patient, and skilled in de-escalation and relationship-building.

    + Ability to pass background check per WI DPI/district requirements.
