As the Director, Compute Software Silicon, you will lead an international team of software engineers enabling ML acceleration on Tensor SOCs that power the Pixel smartphone. Your team provides the compiler for the ML accelerator, and collaborates closely with the hardware architecture team to design next-generation embedded ML accelerators. Your team provides an SDK, including documentation and tooling that enables both other Google teams, as well as external developers, to get the speed and power benefits a dedicated ML accelerator can provide. The team provides a runtime that manages the accelerators. Finally, a team of ML experts co-develops and optimize ML models with model owners (in research and other Google units) to provide the best possible models for the Tensor SOC.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $294,000-$414,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

+ Lead a team of software engineers.

+ Define and deliver a complete SDK for ML accelerators for the Tensor SOC.

+ Ship embedded products with state-of-the-art ML workloads.

+ Take a data-driven approach to deeply analyze Google’s workloads and complex software stacks to identify opportunities.

+ Work with cross-functional teams to ensure architected features are successfully deployed in product.
